suspected White arsonist caught

The link between race and pyromania.

Police have reportedly identified a suspect in the arson case involving the chaotic California wildfires – John Alfred Rund. San Diego fires continue to blaze as well as at least 14 other fires – and police may have identified the man believed to have started the fires.

One witnes has claimed they saw a white male trying to start a fire in Hesperia, California, and Fox News claims the suspect’s name is John Alfred Rund.

Meanwhile, UPI reports that strong and gusty winds fanning 15 large wildfires in Southern California began to ease Wednesday after 656 square miles had been charred. Officials said the fires from Los Angeles south to the Mexican border had consumed some 420,000 acres and destroyed at least 1,155 homes, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The fires erupted Sunday, and in San Diego County alone, nearly 350,000 homes were ordered evacuated to schools and Qualcomm Stadium, CNN reported. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said about 7,000 firefighters were battling the blazes, including 2,300 inmates from state prisons.

San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders told reporters the mayor of Tijuana, Mexico, had sent four fire engines and crews to help and the governor of Baja California had also offered assistance. A major power line in the county was downed and Mexico was diverting power into the area grid, Sanders said.

One death has been directly linked to the fire – but as many as five may have died as a reslut of the fires, and at least 70 people have been injured, officials said.

Weather forecasters said the Santa Ana winds had begun to ease and that “significant relief” from winds gusting as high as 100 mph should come by Friday, the Times said.

U.S. President George Bush was scheduled to visit the area Thursday, the White House said. (c) tPC (c) UPI

1/3 of Americans believe in UFOs

Why do white people see things no one else sees?

ufo2.jpg

WASHINGTON – It was bad enough when the TV and lights inexplicably flicked on at night, Misty Conrad says. When her daughter began talking to an unseen girl named Nicole and neighbors said children had been murdered in the house, it was time to move.

Put Conrad, a homemaker from Hampton, Va., firmly in the camp of the 34 percent of people who say they believe in ghosts, according to a pre-Halloween poll by The Associated Press and Ipsos. That’s the same proportion who believe in unidentified flying objects — exceeding the 19 percent who accept the existence of spells or witchcraft.

Forty-eight percent believe in extrasensory perception, or ESP. But nearly half of you knew we were about to tell you that, right?

Conrad, now 40, lived in Syracuse, Ind., when her family was scared from the house they rented.

“It kind of creeped you out,” she recalled this week. “I needed to get us out.”

To put the roughly one-third who believe in ghosts and UFOs in perspective, it’s about the same as, in recent AP-Ipsos polls, the 36 percent who said they are baseball fans; the 37 percent who said the U.S. made the right decision to invade Iraq; and the 31 percent who approve of the job President Bush is doing.

A smaller but still substantial 23 percent say they have actually seen a ghost or believe they have been in one’s presence, with the most likely candidates for such visits including single people, Catholics and those who never attend religious services. By 31 percent to 18 percent, more liberals than conservatives report seeing a specter.

Those who dismissed the existence of ghosts include Morris Swadener, 66, a Navy retiree from Kingston, Wash.

He says he shot one with his rifle when he was a child.

“I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a white ghost in my closet,” he said. “I discovered I’d put a hole in my brand new white shirt. My mother and father were not amused.”

Three in 10 have awakened sensing a strange presence in the room. For whatever it says about matrimony, singles are more likely than married people to say so.

Fourteen percent — mostly men and lower-income people — say they have seen a UFO. Among them is Danny Eskanos, 44, an attorney in Palm Harbor, Fla., who says as a Colorado teenager he watched a bright light dart across the sky, making abrupt stops and turns.

“I knew a little about airplanes and helicopters, and it was not that,” he said. “It’s one of those things that sticks in your mind.”

Spells and witchcraft are more readily believed by urban dwellers, minorities and lower-earning people. Those who find credibility in ESP are more likely to be better educated and white — 51 percent of college graduates compared to 37 percent with a high school diploma or less, about the same proportion by which white believers outnumber minorities.

Overall, the 48 percent who accept ESP is less than the 66 percent who gave that answer to a similar 1996 Newsweek question.

One in five say they are at least somewhat superstitious, with young men, minorities, and the less educated more likely to go out of their way to seek luck. Twenty-six percent of urban residents — twice the rate of those from rural areas — said they are superstitious, while single men were more superstitious than unmarried women, 31 percent to 17 percent.

The most admitted-to superstition, by 17 percent, was finding a four-leaf clover. Thirteen percent dread walking under a ladder or the groom seeing his bride before their wedding, while slightly smaller numbers named black cats, breaking mirrors, opening umbrellas indoors, Friday the 13th or the number 13.

Generally, women were more superstitious than men about four-leaf clovers, breaking mirrors or grooms prematurely seeing brides. Democrats were more superstitious than Republicans over opening umbrellas indoors, while liberals were more superstitious than conservatives over four-leaf clovers, grooms seeing brides and umbrellas.

Then there’s Jack Van Geldern, a computer programmer from Riverside, Conn. Now 51, Van Geldern is among the five percent who say they have seen a monster in the closet — or in his case, a monster’s face he spotted on the wall of his room as a child.

“It was so terrifying I couldn’t move,” he said. “Needless to say I survived the event and never saw it again.”

The poll, conducted Oct. 16-18, involved telephone interviews with 1,013 adults and had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

White mercenaries take each other out

If they can’t treat each other professionally, imagine how they treat Iraqis and Afghans.

CAIRO, Egypt – A U.S. Navy sailor shot and killed two female sailors early Monday in the barracks an American military base in Bahrain, officials said.

The alleged shooter, a man, was critically wounded in the shooting at the U.S. Naval Support Activity Bahrain base, said a Navy official who was not authorized to release the information to the media and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Navy said the shootings, which took place around 5 a.m. and forced the base to close for about an hour, were not terror related and only involved U.S. military personnel.

A State Department official in Washington said that while initial reports suggested the incident may have been the result of a “love triangle,” it now appeared to be a case of a jilted boyfriend shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend and then shooting himself.

It was not clear if the second female victim was romantically involved, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the investigation was still under way.

The wounded sailor apparently shot himself, the Navy said. The Navy declined to release the names of those involved, saying their families had not been notified.

“The incident is under investigation, and it would not be prudent to discuss details at this time,” said Navy spokesman Lt. John Gay.

Bahrain, a tiny island nation on the Persian Gulf, is a U.S. ally and home to the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet, which is responsible for an area of about 2.5 million square miles of water including the Persian Gulf, Arabian Sea, Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Gulf of Oman and parts of the Indian Ocean.

About 3,600 personnel work on the U.S. Naval Support Activity Bahrain base, located just outside Bahrain’s capital, Manama. The base supports U.S. naval ships in the region.

White pedophile caught

artsuspectap.jpg

BANGKOK, Thailand – A Canadian schoolteacher suspected of pedophilia was arrested Friday in northeastern Thailand after an international manhunt that included the release of his unscrambled Internet photos to the public.

The suspect, 32-year-old Christopher Paul Neil, had been hiding in the town of a Thai friend who used to arrange some of his sexual liaisons with boys, police said.

“Bingo! We’ve got him,” police Maj. Gen. Wimol Powintara told The Associated Press

Neil was being driven to Bangkok, about 130 miles away, Wimol said. Wimol declined to give details of the arrest, saying a news conference would be held in Bangkok later in the day.

Shortly before the arrest, Wimol told the AP that police rushed to the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima on Thursday night after receiving credible information that Neil had fled there.

Residents said they had spotted the Canadian near the home of a Thai man who police say had helped Neil to meet young boys in the past, Wimol said.

Neil lived in Thailand from 2002 to early 2004, police said.

Thai boys claim abuse
Thai authorities issued an arrest warrant Thursday for Neil after determining that he may have sexually abused boys in Thailand, in addition to the dozen Cambodian and Vietnamese boys, some as young as 6, whom Interpol suspects he abused.

At Thailand’s request, Interpol also issued an international wanted persons notice for Neil. The so-called “Red Notice” from the France-based international police agency was to be circulated worldwide requesting the subject’s arrest so he can be extradited.

The Thai arrest warrant was based on the testimony of one boy, who said he was lured to Neil’s apartment in Bangkok by a Thai man, Wimol said Thursday.

The boy was one of three Thai youths, aged 9, 13 and 14 at the time, who contacted police Wednesday after seeing Neil’s photograph on television. They claimed he had paid them to perform oral sex on him in 2003, Wimol said earlier, adding that the Canadian allegedly also had sex with at least one other underaged male.

The boys said the suspect showed them pornographic images on his computer at his apartment in Bangkok, and paid them each $16 to $32, Wimol said.

Neil has taught at various schools in Thailand, South Korea and Vietnam since at least 2000.

Suspect fled South Korean teaching job
He suddenly left his most recent teaching job in South Korea last week on a one-way ticket for Thailand as investigators closed in on his identity. Cameras captured his image as he arrived at Bangkok’s international airport.

The hunt for Neil began three years ago when German police discovered about 200 online photographs of a man sexually abusing children. His face was digitally obscured, but German police were able to reconstruct a recognizable image and Interpol circulated those images last week.

The suspect was identified with the help of hundreds of tips from people who responded to an appeal by Interpol for public assistance.

Before teaching in Asia, Neil had worked as a chaplain in Canada, counseling teens.

Canadian authorities have said they would seek his extradition. Canada has sex tourism laws allowing prosecution for crimes committed abroad.

A twisted old racist

Proof that age and knowledge doesn’t equal wisdom. Given that whites were in caves when other civilizations were at their zenith can be just as easily used to dismiss them as primitive barbarians.

LONDON – London’s Science Museum canceled a Friday talk by Nobel Prize-winning geneticist James Watson after the co-discoverer of DNA’s structure told a newspaper that Africans and Europeans had different levels of intelligence.

James Watson provoked widespread outrage with his comments to The Sunday Times, which quoted the 79-year-old American as saying he was “inherently gloomy about the prospect of Africa” because “all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours — whereas all the testing says not really.”

He told the paper he hoped that everyone was equal, but added: “people who have to deal with black employees find this not true.”

The comments drew condemnation from British lawmakers, scientists, and civil rights campaigners. On Wednesday The Independent newspaper put Watson on its front page, against the words: “Africans are less intelligent than Westerners, says DNA pioneer.”

Watson, who serves as chancellor of the renowned Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y., was to deliver a sold-out lecture at the Science Museum, but on Wednesday night the institution said Watson’s comments had gone too far and the event had been canceled.

Call to Watson’s book publisher and his office in New York were not immediately returned.

This is not the first time Watson’s speaking engagements have caused a stir.

The Independent catalogued a series of controversial statements from Watson, including one in which he reportedly suggested women should have the right to have abortions if tests could determine their children would be homosexual.

In 2000 Watson shocked an audience at the University of California, Berkeley, when he advanced a theory about a link between skin color and sex drive.

His lecture, complete with slides of bikini-clad women, argued that extracts of melanin — which give skin its color — had been found to boost subjects’ sex drive.

“That’s why you have Latin lovers,” he said, according to people who attended the lecture. “You’ve never heard of an English lover. Only an English patient.”

Telephone and e-mail messages left with the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory after business hours Wednesday were not immediately returned.

Another white pedophile on the loose….

October should officially be named white pedophile month. These perverts often go to poor countries to prey on children, thinking they won’t ever get caught.

ap_france_interpol_pedophile_pic_08oct07.jpg

The international police force, Interpol, has launched an unprecedented worldwide hunt for a man it says has posted numerous pictures of himself on the Internet raping young boys.

In a statement Monday, Interpol, which is based in Lyon, France, said it is the first time it has made such an appeal to the public.

The police force said it has tried all other means for years to bring the man to justice, and is now convinced it can not catch him without the public’s help.

The statement says without that help, Interpol fears the man will continue to rape young children. The victims’ ages have ranged from six to the early teens.

Interpol says the 186-member country organization has yet to learn the man’s identity or nationality.

Most of the pictures are believed to have been taken in Vietnam and Cambodia and involved 12 different boys.

White terrorists kill 9 children

Yet another day in Iraq. This is where white men who may make it out of high school end up…killing the innocent.

4th_anniversary_of_iraq_war_b_by_latuff2.jpg

BAGHDAD – A U.S. attack killed 19 insurgents and 15 civilians, including nine children, northwest of the capital Thursday — one of the heaviest civilian death tolls in an American operation in recent months. The military said it was targeting senior leaders of al-Qaida in Iraq.

American forces have applied fierce and determined pressure on militants, especially al-Qaida in Iraq, since the full contingent of additional U.S. troops arrived June 15. But Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has recently confronted top American commander Gen. David Petraeus about what he sees as overly aggressive U.S. tactics that harm innocent civilians, according to Iraqi officials.

The military statement detailing Thursday’s air and ground assault said soldiers were acting on intelligence reports about an al-Qaida meeting in the Lake Tharthar region. The southern reaches of the big, man-made lake are about 50 miles northwest of the capital.

The American account said U.S. surveillance confirmed “activity consistent with the reports and supporting aircraft engaged the time-sensitive target.” The first air attack killed “four terrorists,” said the statement.

The military said it then tracked some of those who escaped the initial attack to a place south of Lake Tharthar. It said ground forces moved on the site and came under fire. Air support was called in.

“After securing the area, the ground force assessed 15 terrorists, six women and nine children were killed,” the statement said. Two suspected al-Qaida members, a woman and three children were wounded, according to the military account.

The military said its troopers “were reviewing information from the scene (of Thursday’s attack) as well as assessing the level of damage involved.”

The statement also issued regret “that civilians are hurt or killed while Coalition forces search to rid Iraq of terrorism.”

On Oct. 5, a pre-dawn U.S. raid on Khalis, a Shiite city north of Baghdad, killed 25 people when U.S. troops called in airstrikes after meeting a fierce barrage while hunting suspected smugglers of arms from Iran to Baghdad. Village leaders said the victims included civilians, but the military insisted the 25 killed were militants.

President Bush ordered the 30,000 American forces to Iraq to stanch sectarian violence and give the government breathing space to foster reconciliation among the country’s warring Sunni and Shiite Muslims. U.S. forces have chalked up notable success against militants, but the government has become nearly deadlocked and made no progress on healing wounds among Iraq’s sectarian and ethnic groups.

The U.S. military announced the combat death of a soldier Wednesday in eastern Baghdad.

At least 35 Iraqis were killed or found dead in attacks nationwide Thursday, as suicide car bombers struck a market in the northern city of Kirkuk and a cafe in eastern Baghdad.

Also Thursday, the U.S. military revealed that rockets fired from a nearby abandoned school struck Camp Victory, U.S. military headquarters near Baghdad Airport, killing two members of the U.S.-led coalition and wounding 40 other people on the sprawling headquarters for U.S. forces in Iraq.

Most troops stationed at the base are American but there are small contingents from other countries. The military said those wounded in Wednesday’s attack included two “third-country nationals,” meaning they were not Americans or Iraqis.

Petraeus said 107 mm rockets were used. A number of other rockets also were found at the launching site, he said, adding the military had strong leads about who was behind the attack. A U.S. military official said the rockets were fired from an abandoned school nearby.

Both the Iraqi officials and the U.S. military official spoke on condition of anonymity because they lacked authorization to release information.

U.S. bases in Iraq frequently face rocket or mortar attacks, but Camp Victory is well-entrenched on the capital’s western outskirts and such heavy casualties are rare.

On Sept. 11, one person was killed and 11 were wounded in a rocket attack on the complex, which includes lakeside palaces formerly used by Saddam Hussein that now house the headquarters of the Multi-National Forces in Iraq. The U.S. military said a 240 mm rocket provided to Shiite extremists by Iran was used in that attack.

By contrast, the U.S.-protected Green Zone, which houses the American and British embassies and the Iraqi government headquarters in central Baghdad, is far more vulnerable and has faced a series of deadly strikes in recent months.

14 year old White teenager goes on school shooting spree…..

This is his older brother….what kind of family values are whites teaching their kids?

crazy2.jpg

CLEVELAND – Despite 26 security cameras, officials couldn’t say Thursday how an armed, suspended 14-year-old student was able to get into his downtown school a day earlier and shoot two students and two teachers before killing himself.

School officials also were investigating how a number of warning signs from the troubled student, including threats made last week, apparently went unheeded.

Police were checking surveillance video Thursday for clues as to how Asa H. Coon, armed with two revolvers, was able to enter the SuccessTech Academy alternative school. Police Chief Michael McGrath said a classmate could have let him in a back door.

Coon was a new student at the school, but the district has a dossier on past problems. He had mental health problems, spent time in two juvenile facilities and was suspended from school last year for attempting to harm a student, according to juvenile court records.

He had been suspended for a Monday fight, but students said officials had done nothing about threats he had made last week to blow up the school and stab students.

“I told my friends in the class that he had a gun and stuff,” Rasheem Smith, 15, said Thursday on CBS’s “Early Show.” “We talked to the principal. She would try to get us all in the office, but it would always be too busy for it to happen.”

Responding on the show, schools CEO Eugene Sanders said the district would investigate. A message left at Principal Johneita Durant’s office was not returned. A phone call to her home was not answered.

The school of about 240 students has metal detectors but none were operating Wednesday. Students said the devices were used only intermittently.

When asked how Coon got past an armed security guard or whether warnings signs were missed, the police chief said he couldn’t comment. McGrath said police consult with school officials on where to locate metal detectors, based in part on crime in schools.

Charles Blackwell, president of SuccessTech’s student-parent organization, said the position of a second security guard had been eliminated because of lack of money.

Maureen Harper, a city spokeswoman, said Sanders will give the mayor a plan by noon Friday to address whether additional security measures are needed at the school and how the school identifies potential problems among students.

Wearing black clothing, black-painted fingernails and a T-shirt of Marilyn Manson — the shock rocker he said he chose to worship instead of God — Coon fired as students ran screaming or hid under tables or in closets. Then the freshman shot himself behind his right ear with a .38-caliber shot shell loaded with pellets. Coroner Frank Miller ruled the death a suicide.

McGrath said a preliminary investigation found that Coon entered the school in a five-story converted office building and went to a fourth-floor bathroom, where he changed clothes and took items out of a duffel bag, possibly the weapons.

Students said Coon shot one student who had punched him after Coon bumped into him, and another who was walking up the stairs while others were fleeing. McGrath said Coon went to a classroom and shot a teacher, then, while looking for a second teacher, fired additional shots, wounding a teacher who was trying to help students get to another floor.

Near Coon’s body, police found the two guns, .22- and .38-caliber revolvers, and a box of ammunition for each, as well as three folding knives, McGrath said. He said the guns are older, meaning it will take some time to trace them.

One teacher remained hospitalized Thursday.

Coon’s family declined to comment Thursday.

His older brother, Stephen, was taken into custody at the family home for parole violations, according to prisons spokeswoman JoEllen Lyons. The 19-year-old said his brother did not get any guns from him but wouldn’t answer questions about the shooting.

Lyons said the arrest was not connected to Wednesday’s school shooting, but McGrath said officials would be talking to Stephen Coon and his mother about the weapons Asa Coon used.

McGrath said that since 2006, police had gone to the family’s home five times: for calls about domestic violence, an assault call, a property crime and a hit-and-run accident.

Asa Coon, who is white, stood out in a school that is 85 percent black for wearing a black trench coat, black boots, a dog collar, chains and a glove. No one has suggested race played a role in the attack.

Coon was the subject of a juvenile court neglect case at age 4, came from a poor home and routinely showed up to school unkempt.

When he was 12, Coon was charged in juvenile court with domestic violence, accused of attacking his mother.

While on probation, he threw his court papers on the floor and then rammed his body into his mother’s head when she tried to pick them up, according to court documents.

His probation officer described the relationship between Coon and his mother as extremely poor, with both using foul and abusive language toward each other. Their home was reported in poor condition with dog waste littering the front yard.

Christina Burns, who volunteered at one of the schools Coon attended, said Coon both received and delivered abuse. She said that in seventh grade, he did nothing after a classmate dropped a book on Coon’s head while the teacher wasn’t looking.

“He would often take this abuse from children all the time before lashing at them and cussing them out,” Burns said.

Burns said Coon was a bright child who was unable to focus on his schoolwork and was prone to mood swings. She recalled “his shabby shoes and raggedy coat — didn’t brush his hair, take a washcloth across his face, hair sticking up all over the place.”

Burns said she is angry no one reached out to him. “This all could have been prevented if he had the proper intervention,” she said.

“That child was tormented from his classmates every single day,” she said. “Everybody’s making him out to be a devil, a demon, but nobody knows what was going on with this kid.”

White terrorist mercenaries kill 2 woman

Another day in Iraq.

BAGHDAD (AFP) – Outraged Iraqi authorities on Wednesday condemned the killing in Baghdad of two women by foreign security guards but the Australian-run firm that hired the contractors said they had opened fire fearing a suicide attack.

“The government and the prime minister and everybody categorically condemns the actions of this company,” the head of Baghdad security, General Qassim Mussawi, said in a statement.

Tuesday’s shooting came just days after Iraq vowed to punish US firm Blackwater when a probe found that its guards opened “deliberate” fire in another incident in Baghdad three weeks ago, killing 17 civilians.

Witnesses to the latest shooting, in Karrada neighbourhood, said a woman taxi driver mistakenly got too close to a convoy of Dubai-based Unity Resources Group (URG) and came under immediate gunfire by the guards.

The taxi driver, an Armenian Christian identified as Maroni Ohannes, 49, and a female passenger died of gunshots to the head. Another woman passenger was wounded in the shoulder, while a child was injured by flying glass.

Several witnesses reported barrages of gunfire, and a policeman who witnessed the shooting said that after blazing away at the car the foreign security guards sped off “like gangsters.”

Commenting on the incident, Unity said in a fresh statement issued late Wednesday that its convoy was “approached at speed by a white car.”

“The security team used graduated and escalated responses which included non-lethal means such as signage, strobe lights, hand signals, and a signal flare fired in front of the vehicle in an effort to get it to stop.

“The vehicle did not heed these warnings and failed to halt. Fearing a suicide attack, only then did the team use their weapons in a final attempt to stop the vehicle.”

It regretted the loss of lives and said its officials had been meeting with Iraqi authorities “throughout the day and are cooperating with their investigations.”

A small group of the dead women’s grieving relatives gathered for their funerals at the Armenian Church in central Baghdad on Wednesday.

“The incident is a barbarous crime,” said one sobbing relative, Kasbar Boghos. “Those guards are inhuman. They have no pity nor do they have any religion.”

Another, Kevork Armelian, judged the shootings a “crime against humanity.”

“We call on the Iraqi government to put an end to this,” Armelian told AFP. “It was clear that women were inside the car when they opened fire haphazardly and deliberately.

“We demand the expulsion of the company so that others can learn a lesson. The Australian government when sending envoys should teach them human rights — not how to kill innocent people.”

The US State Department, whose personnel Blackwater had been escorting during the earlier incident on September 16, has denied any link between the latest shooting and the American government.

However, it has emerged that Unity was returning to its headquarters after transporting members of RTI International, a company under contract to the US government agency USAID, when the two Iraqi women were killed.

“No RTI staff members were involved or present when the incident occurred. Unity was not transporting RTI personnel at the time.

“They had completed a transportation mission and were returning to their base of operations,” Patrick Gibbons, the group’s communications director, told AFP, while confirming RTI personnel had just been dropped off.

RTI is a non-profit organisation involved in training Iraqis in local government management and administration.

“USAID does not direct the security arrangements of contractors,” US embassy spokeswoman Mirembe Nantongo told AFP.

“Contractors are contractually responsible for the safety and wellbeing of their employees,” she said, adding that the State Department was in contact with the Iraqi authorities about the shooting.

Iraq’s government said on Monday that it was determined to rein in private security contractors operating in the war-torn country following the Blackwater shooting, which an Iraqi report said was unprovoked.

“We have set strict mechanisms to control the behaviour of the security companies and their conduct in the streets,” interior ministry spokesman Abdul Karim Khalaf said.

White deputy sheriff kills 6

Enjoy the weekend, eat pizza and watch a movie, then get shot by a deranged white man. Why are white men so prone to violence? It baffles the rational mind.

mmmmmmm.jpg

CRANDON, Wis. – An off-duty sheriff’s deputy went on a shooting rampage early Sunday at a home where seven young people had gathered for pizza and movies, killing six and critically injuring the other before authorities fatally shot him, officials said.

The gunman, Tyler Peterson, was 20 years old and worked full-time as a Forest County deputy sheriff and part-time as a Crandon police officer, said Police Chief John Dennee.

Three of the victims were students at the small town’s high school, and three were recent graduates, a school official said. The gunman may have graduated from the same high school.

Peterson was not working at the time of the shooting, Sheriff Keith Van Cleve said.

The survivor was in critical condition Sunday night at a hospital in nearby Marshfield, according to a nursing supervisor. A Crandon police officer who fired back was treated for minor injuries and released.

Gary Bradley, mayor of the city of about 2,000, said earlier Sunday that a sniper killed the suspect, but Van Cleve would not confirm that officers shot the suspect.

Peterson was killed Sunday afternoon eight miles north of Crandon in the rural town of Argonne, Dennee said.

The circumstances of the shooting were hazy Sunday and it wasn’t immediately clear what the gunman’s motive was, but the mother of a 14-year-old victim said the suspect may have been a jealous boyfriend. The shooting occurred in a white, two-story duplex about a block from downtown Crandon.

“It was a pizza and movie party,” Dennee said.

Three of the victims were Crandon High School students, said schools Superintendent Richard Peters, and the other three had graduated within the past three years.

“There is probably nobody in Crandon who is not affected by this,” Peters said, adding that students would be especially affected. “They are going to wake up in shock and disbelief and a lot of pain.”

Peters did not know whether Peterson had also graduated from the 300-student high school. But Crandon resident Karly Johnson, 16, said that she knew the gunman and that he had helped her in a tech education class.

“He graduated with my brother,” she said. “He was nice. He was an average guy. Normal. You wouldn’t think he could do that.”

One of the dead was 14-year-old Lindsey Stahl, said her mother, Jenny Stahl, 39.

She said her daughter called her Saturday night and asked whether she could sleep over at a friend’s house. Jenny Stahl agreed.

“I’m waiting for somebody to wake me up right now. This is a bad, bad dream,” the weeping mother said. “All I heard it was a jealous boyfriend and he went berserk. He took them all out.”

Dennee declined comment on whether Peterson had a romantic relationship with any of the victims.

A second victim was Bradley Schultz, 20, a third-year student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee who was home to visit his friends, said his aunt, Sharon Pisarek.

“We still don’t have many details, but from what they’ve told us, there was a girl next to him and he was covering her, protecting her,” she said, sobbing. “He was loved by everybody. He was everybody’s son. Senseless.”

Marci Franz, 35, who lives two houses south of the duplex, said gunshots awoke her.

“I heard probably five or six shots, a short pause and then five or six more,” she said. “I wasn’t sure if it was gunfire initially. I thought some kids were messing around and hitting a nearby metal building.”

Then she heard eight louder shots and tires squealing, she said.

“I was just about to get up and call it in, and I heard sirens,” she said. “There’s never been a tragedy like this here. There’s been individual incidents, but nothing of this magnitude.”

Her husband, David Franz, 36, said it was hard to accept that someone in law enforcement committed such an act.

“The first statement we said to each other was, how did he get through the system?” David Franz said. “How do they know somebody’s background, especially that young? It is disturbing, to say the least.”

The sheriff said he would meet with state Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen on Monday morning to discuss the case. Dennee said the state Department of Criminal Investigation will handle the case because the suspect was a deputy and officer.

The Crandon School District called off classes Monday.

The community, about 225 miles north of Milwaukee in an area known for logging and outdoor activities, is facing a trying time but is pulling together, Bradley said.

“We are a strong community. We always have been,” he said. “This is agonizing, but we will prevail.”

Tis the white season for abusing kids….

A sex offender accused of running off with a 15-year-old Florida girl and then releasing her at a Wal-Mart store earlier this week has been arrested, police said Saturday.

William Joe Mitchell, 46, was arrested by Virginia State Police at a gas station in Winchester, Va., according the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in central Florida.

The girl sneaked out of her house before dawn on Monday. Her disappearance spurred a statewide manhunt that ended a day later. She told friends she was running away for love, to be with a boy she met online. She believed Mitchell was in his early 20s.
The Associated Press is not naming the girl because she is a suspected sexual abuse victim.

Police believe heavy publicity in the hours after the girl disappeared pressured him into dropping her off at a Wal-Mart in the Florida Panhandle.

The girl told authorities Mitchell had a handgun and said he’d kill her if she drew attention to herself in the store. He told her he was going to another part of the store and would meet her in 5 minutes and then disappeared, authorities said.

Mitchell had 14 prior arrests ranging from burglary and bomb threats to lewd and lascivious conduct, police said.

The girl ran away the day a new Florida law took effect, making the state’s sex predator penalties some of the toughest in the nation.

The law requires offenders to register e-mail and instant message handles with authorities, information that will be shared with social networking sites like Myspace.com. The state also tripled the maximum sentences to 15 years for soliciting minors for sex and possessing child pornography.

White woman murders pregnant woman and steals her baby

Is this pro-life or pro-choice? Whatever happened to stealing babies from hospitals?

A woman was likely still alive when a stranger started removing her unborn baby, a trial in Missouri has heard.

Bobbi Jo Stinnett, who was eight months pregnant, fought for her life, and that of her child, after being attacked by Lisa Montgomery, the trial heard.

Mrs Montgomery denies strangling Mrs Stinnett and kidnapping her daughter, Victoria Jo, in December 2004.

Prosecutors said a doctor would testify that Stinnett was probably alive “when the baby was being cut from her womb”.

Internet research

Prosecutor Matt Whitworth said searches of Mrs Montgomery’s computer showed she had researched how to perform caesarean sections and he added: “This defendant spent a great deal of time planning this crime.”

Mrs Montgomery, 39, allegedly used a kitchen knife to cut the baby from the womb and used a home birthing kit she had downloaded from the internet. She has pleaded not guilty.

Mrs Stinnett’s body was discovered by her mother, Becky Harper, who told the court: “There was blood everywhere.”

The little girl survived and was traced to Mrs Montgomery’s home in Melvern, Kansas. She was later reunited with her father and is now almost three years old.

The court heard how police tracked the mother-of-four down through e-mails she had sent the victim in which she purported to be interested in buying a dog from her.

The trial is due to last three weeks and prosecutors have said they will seek the death penalty if Mrs Montgomery is convicted.

Mrs Montgomery’s lawyer, Fred Duchardt, said the defence would not deny Mrs Montgomery’s involvement in Mrs Stinnett’s death but would seek to prove she was suffering from mental illness.

Pseudocyesis

He said she had suffered for years after being raped by her stepfather as a child.

Mr Duchardt said Mrs Montgomery had been suffering from a condition called pseudocyesis, which caused her to falsely believe she was pregnant.

He said she had been pushed over the edge by an impending custody battle with her former husband.

The first witness to be called was Nodaway County Sheriff Ben Espey, who was the first law enforcement officer to arrive at the Stinnetts’ home in Skidmore, Missouri, after a 911 call by Mrs Harper.

“You could see swirls in the floor in the blood, showing there was a struggle,” said Mr Espey.

White lesbian pedophile……….

It seems white woman have caught up to the men when it comes to perversions. They won’t even spare their own kids…

lyte0210_228x585.jpgA tennis coach threatened to ruin a 13-year-old’s budding career if she told anyone they were having a lesbian affair, a court heard yesterday.

Claire Lyte, 29, allegedly warned the girl to keep their illegal relationship a secret or be thrown out of the prestigious Lawn Tennis Association academy at Loughborough.

The former professional player, who played at Wimbledon and reached 101 in the world rankings, is accused of taking advantage of the youngster.

A court heard the relationship was revealed when the girl’s mother found them naked in bed together.

Yesterday the girl – described as one of Britain’s most promising young players – gave evidence by videolink at Liverpool Crown Court.

The 15-year-old broke down in tears as she explained why she had not exposed what was allegedly happening sooner.

“She said if I was to say anything to anybody she would hurt me and she would stop my tennis completely and would tell the academy to get rid of me,” the girl said.

She insisted she had felt pressured into the relationship. “Every time something happened, I never wanted it to,” she added. “It happened because I felt under pressure.”

Jurors were told the girl sent Lyte intimate text messages, referring to herself as the coach’s “babyface” and promising to love her for ever.

Pressed by Lyte’s barrister, David Mason, on why she initially told police the incident witnessed by her mother in October 2005 had been a one-off, the girl said: “I was still terrified of what would happen.

“I wanted to carry on with my tennis, it was always what I wanted to do.”

Mr Mason told her: “You were infatuated with Claire Lyte. In reality you were friends with Claire, but there was never any sexual contact. You might have wanted it to happen, but the truth is that your mum has got you to make this up hasn’t she?”

The girl replied: “No. It is all true.”

Lyte, from Shirley, West Midlands, denies five counts of sexual activity with a child between May 2005 and June last year.

She claims the girl’s “pushy” mother concocted the claims when her daughter failed to reach her potential and left the academy.
